Epiphany

by Fr. Boniface Endorf, O.P.

Happy Epiphany! Today we celebrate Epiphany, when the Magi came to adore the infant Jesus. We have an image of Epiphany in the church: the painting just under the tabernacle in the sanctuary. Also, we have a lot of special spiritual tools available on this feast. First, we bless Epiphany water just before the Saturday Epiphany Vigil and use that holy water in the holy water dispenser, so please take some to use. This powerful blessing can only be done once a year on Epiphany, so we take advantage of it here! Second, we have blessed Epiphany chalk available at all the Sunday Masses that you can use to bless your homes. There are instructions with the chalk. Take advantage of these tools Christ gives us to help us in our spiritual lives.

Dominican Discourse restarts this Monday, January 5th. There a friar will give a short talk, followed by discussion. It’s a great way to go deeper in your faith in this new year and it meets every Monday at 7:30pm in McGuire Hall.

Have a blessed Epiphany,

Fr. Boniface
