SEVENteenth Sunday of Ordinary Time
by Fr. Jonah Teller, OP
Dear St. Joseph Parish Family,
Fr. Jonah here, filling in for Fr. Boniface while he’s away (though by the time you read this, he’ll be back and I’ll be away for a bit, recording an album with The Hillbilly Thomists).
I want to ask all of you to pray for the upcoming OCIA class: as of now we have close to 30 people who have expressed interest in being baptized, received into full communion with the Church, or confirmed. Praise God! Please ask the Lord to send even more people to the Church this year. The joy of the Gospel is a thing designed to be spread, to be shared. Consider St. Andrew, the very first apostle to follow Jesus in the Gospel of John: right after meeting Jesus, Andrew goes to find his brother Simon (soon to be Peter) and urges him to come meet Jesus as well, telling him, “We have found the Messiah!” May we all have such faith, may we all have such enthusiasm to share the knowledge of Jesus Christ with a world hungry for it.
Peace,
Fr. Jonah, O.P.
