Fifteenth Sunday of Ordinary Time

Dear St. Joseph Parish Family,

I have important news to announce. I attended our Provincial Chapter in June and at the Chapter I was appointed Vicar Provincial and Socius for the Province. It's a full-time position at our Provincial headquarters, the Holy Name building, next to St. Vincent Ferrer on 65th; therefore, I’m stepping down as pastor of St. Joseph’s.

I’m sorry to leave St. Joseph’s. It’s been a wonderful 8 years here as pastor and I’ve enjoyed watching everything the Holy Spirit has accomplished here. I’ll be at St. Joseph’s until mid-August, when I’ll move uptown. 

But there is another announcement: who will be the new pastor? Fr. Jonah Teller will be the next pastor of St. Joseph’s! I’m happy that he’s taking over: he’ll be a wonderful pastor. Fr. Basil Borroughs is the new vicar, taking over Fr. Jonah’s previous position, and Fr. Jacek Buda will continue on as a vicar too. 

Thank you for all your prayers and support these past 8 years and please continue to pray for St. Joseph’s and the friars who serve here.
