Dear St. Joseph Parish Family,

Fr. Jonah here, filling in for Fr. Boniface.

Tomorrow we celebrate the solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul. They’re two of my favorites. To celebrate, here are some favorite quotes of mine from their writings in the New Testament:

St. Paul: “God, who is rich in mercy, out of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with him, and made us sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:4-7).

St. Peter: “You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people, that you may declare the wonderful deeds of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.  Once you were no people but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy but now you have received mercy” (1 Peter 2:9-10).

Have a great week!

Peace,

Fr. Jonah, O.P.
