Dear St. Joseph Parish Family,

Fr. Jonah here, filling in for Fr. Boniface while he’s away, though he’ll probably be back by the time you’re reading this.

Happy Father’s Day to all of the dads in our parish! Pope St. John Paul II wrote that “the place and task of the father in and for the family is of unique and irreplaceable importance.” In another place he writes, “In the home parents are called to represent the good Father in heaven.” Little children learn about God through their parents, sometimes by means of words, but most often by silently witnessing the way their parents live, how they treat one another. Let us pray for the fathers of our parish, thanking God for them and asking his blessing upon them.
