Gaudete Sunday
by Fr. Boniface Endorf, O.P.
Today is Gaudete Sunday, which means Rejoice. Thus the rose vestments at Mass, the color of rejoicing. We rejoice that our wait is almost over: in less than two weeks our Lord will come at Christmas.
Also, this Monday is Reconciliation Monday, meaning that all churches in the city will be offering confession from 2-4pm and from 6-8pm. St. Joesph’s, of course, will be hearing confessions during those times as well and every Catholic Church in the city will be doing the same. Especially if it’s been awhile, this Monday is the perfect day to receive the graces of confession.
The Monday after, December 22nd , Jin Krista, our traditional choir director, will hold a concert here at St. Joseph’s at 7:30pm. It’s a great way to celebrate the coming of Christmas, so please join us Monday the 22nd at 7:30pm.
Finally, here’s the Christmas Mass schedule:
Christmas Eve, 12/24:
12:10pm Christmas Eve daily Mass (not a Christmas Mass itself) 5pm Christmas Vigil Mass 10pm Christmas Mass at Night
Christmas Day, 12/25: 9am Christmas Morning Mass 11:30am Christmas Day Mass
God bless,
Fr. Boniface
